What's New
Docs Server | Zimbra Docs server installer is available for Ubuntu 18, Ubuntu 16 and RHEL 7. You can download Docs server installer for Ubuntu 18, Ubuntu 16, and RHEL/CentOS. |
ZCS | Added an LC config to control the use of authenticateTimestamp , so it may be disabled in very large environments to improve 2FA performance. When set to true (default), the last authentication time is updated for each user, as usual. If it's false and zimbraAppSpecificPasswordDuration=0 , then the last authentication time is not updated during authentication of app specific passwords.
|
ZCO | In this release, the country-specific address formatting added in 8.8.15 Patch 4 has been extended. Addresses will be formatted in a locale-sensitive way for: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Other addresses will be presented in the default United States format. |
HSM | The doVolumeToVolumeMove command now features a policy option that allows to only move items that comply with a specified policy.
|
RulesServer | New conditions and actions have been added to mail rules/filters:
|
Zimbra Docs | Provided the ability for a sysadmin to install custom and proprietary fonts on the Docs server. |
Zimbra Network Modules NG | Improved server-to-server communication protocol, reducing connection establishment times and resource consumption.

Fixed Issues
ZCS | Shared calendars added on Mac Outlook via EWS would cause synchronization loops on the Zimbra server, flooding exception logs and impacting performance. The only viable work-around was to restart the mailboxd process on affected servers. This has been rectified.
|
ZCS | The option to "Save a copy of sent messages to my Sent folder" that was set when granting "Send-as" delegate rights conflicted with Persona settings. This has been fixed to ensure messages sent by a delegate using a Persona do get saved in the Grantor's Sent folder. |
ZCS | Improved error handling to address a case wherein GAL Synchronization would appear stuck and would throw a NullPointer exception when handling some distribution lists injected via Active Directory.
|
ZCS | The bodies of emails from some third-party clients (e.g. InChange) would not be shown in the Web Client. The quoted-printable content transfer encoding setting used by these clients is now supported.
|
ZCS | OWASP policy was removing obsolete id and class attributes from email HTML for security reasons. However these attributes are commonly present in email for compatibility with older clients, so they are now allowed on div tags.
|
ZCO | Sometimes events in shared calendars that were deleted by delegates would remain visible in the owner's calendar. Instead of being removed from the owner's calendar altogether, such events were being moved into a subtending "Deleted Items" folder inside the calendar. This issue is now fixed. |
Zimbra Drive | Fixed an issue with the OpenDrive Zimlet that had caused shared folders to be hidden when it was available for a user but not active. |
Zimbra Drive | When importing files from the Briefcase, the "Last Modified" field of each file is now preserved instead of being overwritten with the import date. |
Zimbra Connect | Fixed a bug that led to Zimbra Connect not starting, and reporting Service Connect/module could not be started, since one or more mandatory sub-services failed to start, because of a Null Pointer Exception error. |
Zimbra Connect | Retired Talk commands have been removed from the Connect CLI.
Scrolling and focus management UX improvements. Name and Topic input on both Spaces and Channels has been redesigned to improve usability and be easier to understand. Email and user import fields now disable a browser's autocomplete feature so that only the application's autocomplete feature operates. Safari compatibility is improved, and files downloaded from a Connect chat will now have the correct name. Fixed a small UI inconsistency that caused the "Instant_Meeting" string to appear as the label of the Instant Meeting feature on Localized clients. Fixed a bug that caused the wrong message to be displayed when an internal user joined an Instant Meeting via the external link. Fixed a routing issue that blocked users from rejoining an active Instant Meeting. |
Zimbra Connect | A full log of all messages and events can be now enabled by setting the ZxChat_LogEnabled module config property to true via zxsuite config. The log will be located at /opt/zimbra/log/connect_audit.log .
|
Admin NG | Fixed a bug that could cause pre-auth validation to fail due to a NullPointerException error while processing Admin NG SOAP commands. As a temporary workaround, stop the logging Admin NG service with zxsuite admin doStopService . Reapply after every mailbox service restart, but note that doing so will prevent Admin NG gathering the information needed to compile its monthly report.
|
HSM | Fixed a bug that could cause itemID overlapping in some cases. Some observed symptoms include the error "Missing Blob for item ####", and/or the presence of gzipped files with a .bak extension on the primary storage volume. For some, this might produce mailbox corruption and lost messages.
|
NG Mobile | The doAddEASFilter CLI command will now fail if the target of an account filter is not a local account.
Mobile Password set/edit/remove actions are now logged in the Fixed a bug that could cause replies to messages with certain image type attachments sent from mobile clients to have an invalid MIME. |
Zimbra Docs | When editing a document, Document names longer than 32 characters are trimmed when displayed as the tab label to avoid tab overlapping. |
Zimbra Network Modules NG | Improved log feedback when a server is missing the NG Core or the NG Core is not reachable (a message will be displayed instead of a full stack trace). This will reduce the frequency and volume of logging that appears during a rolling upgrade when NG Modules are not enabled on all nodes. |
Known Issues
Zimbra Connect | Emojis have been temporarily disabled in Connect due to a problem that prevents the proper display of messages with emojis. |
Zimbra Connect | Contact auto-complete uses GAL contacts only, so full email address must be entered to initiate conversations with other contacts via the Speak to your friends textbox. |
Zimbra Connect | Beginning in 8.8.15, Chat History is ID-based instead of email-based: if a mailbox is deleted and then a new mailbox with the same email address is created, the history of the old mailbox will not be available to the new mailbox. |
