* Changes made to the "GAL" take effect in the web UI immediately.  For connector, however, it takes 24 hours for the changes to appear.
*Zimbra Collaboration Suite Connector for Outlook (ZCO) synchronizes the GAL with the Zimbra server and stores the offline GAL in the Zimbra zdb file.

# Click Start, and then click Run.
#In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
#Locate and then click to select the following key:

#On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.
#Type Cached Mode.
#On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
#Type DownloadOAB, and then click OK.
#In the right pane, right-click DownloadOAB, and then click Modify.
#In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, type the value that you want, and then click OK.
#On the Registry menu, click Exit.

*The GAL is fully synchronized the first time the profile is opened. On subsequent requests, the changes to the GAL are synced from the Zimbra server to ZCS.
*0 = The Offline Address Book does not download automatically.
 
*1 = The Offline Address Book uses the Download Full Items download mode. This is the default setting.
*The GAL sync happens when Outlook is opened. To force a GAL sync, restart Outlook.
*2 = Download the Offline Address Book in any download mode, but download a differential update in the Header only download mode.
*3 = Always download the Offline Address Book and a differential update in one of the following download modes:
*Download Headers and then Full Items
*Download Full Items
*Download Headers
