Using and understanding the zimbraAuthFallbackToLocal attribute

Purpose

When choosing the external LDAP Authentification method, end users are able to log in with both LDAP password and Zimbra password.

Resolution

This is the content of the zimbraAuthFallbackToLocal attribute.

If the attribute 'zimbraAuthFallbackToLocal' is set to 'TRUE', authentication falls back to Zimbra's ldap if the external ldap gives an error.

To prevent this in case that your Environment doesn't need it, disable it:

zmprov md example.com zimbraAuthFallbackToLocal FALSE
