Specific Disaster Recovery steps
- This article is a Work in Progress, and may be unfinished or missing sections.
Purpose
A specific Disaster Recovery Steps.
Resolution
Here are the steps which you need to perform for Disaster Recovery.
On new Server
- First is stop the Zimbra Collaboration services:
zmcontrol stop
- Take a backup of /opt/zimbra/conf/localconfig.xml, as you need to copy all the passwords from localconfig.xml (from the Full backup) and replace it in /opt/zimbra/conf/localconfig.xml file.
Restore Ldap
Follow the next steps to restore the LDAP:
rm -rf /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/config/* rm -rf /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/mdb/* mkdir -p /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/mdb/db /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/mdb/logs chown -R zimbra:zimbra /opt/zimbra/data/ldap
- Get the /backup/ldap-config.bak file from full backup
- Get the /backup/ldap.bak file from full backup
/opt/zimbra/openldap/sbin/slapadd -q -n 0 -F /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/config -cv -l /backup/ldap-config.bak. /opt/zimbra/openldap/sbin/slapadd -q -b "" -F /opt/zimbra/data/ldap/config -cv -l /backup/ldap.bak
Reinitialize MySQL
Follow the next steps to Reinitialize MySQL:
mv /opt/zimbra/db/data /opt/zimbra/db/data_new source ~/bin/zmshutil ; zmsetvars /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmyinit --sql_root_pw $mysql_root_password (this was done to initialize the data, i.e to have a clean slate)
Restore Offline from full backup
Follow the next steps to restore the Backup file from the Full Backup:
cd /tmp ; nohup zmrestoreoffline -sys -a all -c -rf -lb <full backup>
After this replay the redo logs from incremental backup:-
zmplayredo --logfiles redo.xxxx.seq1.log redo.xxxx.seq2.log
Here you need to replay incremental redologs from the oldest one to newest.
