Configuring Zimbra OpenLDAP Server to listen on multiple interfaces, ports, and or protocols
By default, the Zimbra LDAP server will only listen to the first value in the localconfig key ldap_url. However, it may be desired to listen to multiple interfaces, alternate ports, and/or additional protocols. This can be achieved by modifying the ldap_bind_url localconfig key.
For example, to enable listening to both port 389 with ldap and port 636 with ldaps, one could do the following:
zmlocalconfig -e ldap_bind_url="ldap://myhost.example.com:389 ldaps://myhost.example.com:636" ldap stop ldap start
After the restart of ldap, the server will be listening on both port 389 with LDAP protocol and port 636 with LDAPS protocol.
