How to manually uninstall ZCO/ZCB
- This article is a Work in Progress, and may be unfinished or missing sections.
Note: Please be sure you do a Backup of your Regedit, and you have as well a Restore Point of your machine before follow the above steps.
Here are the steps required to manually uninstall ZCO or ZCB.
Common Steps Required for ZCO and ZCB
- Ensure that that ZCO/ZCB DLLs are not in use by closing all MAPI applications.
- Remove all ZCO/ZCB registry keys as follows:
Open regedt32 with administrative permissions. Select the top-level "Computer" node. Click the "Edit->Find..." menu option. Type "Zimbra Connector" and click the "Find Next" button. Delete all matching nodes until the end of the registry is reached.
Typically, the following keys will be discovered. Please note that the GUIDs will vary, as will the paths depending on the version installed and 32/64 bitness. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\<guid> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\<guid> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\<guid> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{<guid>}
- Remove all Zimbra DLLs. For Outlook versions older than 2013 these will be in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033" ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033" for 32 bit Office running on 64 bit Windows). For later Outlook versions look in "C:\Windows\System32" (or "C:\Windows\SysWOW64"). The files to remove are:
LS*.DLL SharingAddin.dll ShutdownAddin.dll ZCODocs.pdf ZCOLogCtl.exe zdbscan.exe zcbadmin.exe
NOTE: Be careful not to remove msmapi32.dll and mapisvc.inf.
- Launch "Programs and Features" and verify ZCO/ZCB is no longer installed.
Additional Steps Required for ZCB
If you are uninstalling a pre v7.2 version of ZCB, the following additional steps are required.
- Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12".
- Verify that olmapi32.dll is the Microsoft version. If it is not, copy innerolmapi32.dll to olmapi32.dll.
- Verify that emsmdb32.dll is the Microsoft version. If it is not, copy emsmdb32.dll.zco to emsmdb32.dll.
- Verify that Outlook lauches and shows the "Choose Profile" dialog without error.
