Creating an Out Of Office Message
Purpose
To teach Zimbra end-users how to create an out of office message (Zimbra Web Client and Zimbra Desktop).
Resolution
You can create an out of office message using Zimbra Preferences.
Click Out of Office on the Preferences tab, then specify your message text and start/end dates and times.
Some good things to know when creating an out of office message are:
- You can simultaneously set the free/busy status for your calendar on these dates/times
- You can specify a different text message to send to either:
- Anyone outside your domain
- Anyone outside your domain except those in your contacts
- If you click "Send auto-reply message" or "Send different auto-reply message to external senders", you must enter text into the corresponding message fields. If you do not enter text, you will see an error message when you click Save in Preferences. Either enter text or de-select the options to save.
