BLUE = 1

CYAN = 2

GREEN = 3

PURPLE = 4

RED = 5

YELLOW = 6

PINK = 7

GRAY = 8

ORANGE = 9


These are the color codes used by zimbra webmail. My suggestion will be to store RGB values on the color attribute and replace the tag icons with div based tags.
