Attempting to create directory /opt/zimbra/perl5
Problem
Directory creation error while installing Zimbra.
- Error:
Attempting to create directory /opt/zimbra/perl5 mkdir /opt/zimbra/perl5: Permission denied at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/local/lib.pm line 269.
Solution
This issue occurs when "perl-homedir
" installed. During Zimbra installation "perl-homedir
" will attempt to create a Perl home directory for Zimbra user, but this package not required so it can be removed.
Step 1: Verify installed package
rpm -q perl-homedir
Step 2: Remove the package
rpm -e perl-homedir
Notes:
- Even though this error occur, Zimbra installation will finish successfully so no need to change Zimbra configuration.
- This issue observed in CentOS/RHEL.
