Zimbra uses the [http://www.clamav.net/ ClamAV] engine for antivirus.


It might be because its downloading the antivirus database, so give it 1 min.

If thats not it, try this:

        [zimbra@mail root]$ zmcontrol status

Virus definitions update automatically every 2h by default:

        antivirus              Stopped
                zmclamdctl is not running

        mailbox                Running
        mta                    Running
        snmp                    Running
        spell                  Running


Here are your options to control antivurisfrom the CLI:


        [zimbra@mail root]$ zmclamdctl

Ckeck the staus:
*[[ClamAV - Reset Defs_DB]]
        [zimbra@mail root]$ zmclamdctl status
*[[ClamAV - Updating Version]]
*[[ClamAV - Updating from versions lower than 0.90.0]]


Nothing much going on.


        [zimbra@mail root]$ zmclamdctl start

        Clamd already running


This says that is it running, it might have been downloading the virus database still.


        [zimbra@mail root]$ zmclamdctl status
[[Category:Anti-virus]]
 
Still, nothing much going on.
 
        [zimbra@mail root]$ zmcontrol status
        Host mail.domain.com
        antispam                Running
        antivirus              Running
        ldap                    Running
        logger                  Running
        mailbox                Running

Oh look its running.
 
 
        [zimbra@mail root]$ zmclamdctl status
 
Still, nothing much going on.  This status doesn't seem to tell you much.
