After Upgrade Mobile Devices Stop Working
Purpose
After upgrading to a new Zimbra Collaboration Server, there have been many reports where mobile devices are unable to connect right after the upgrade. There have been reports of this happening after an upgrade to, ZCS 8.0.8, 8.0.9, 8.5.0, 8.5.1, and 8.6.0.
- Note: The information shown in this wiki article works only if Mobile Devices were able to sync to ZCS before the upgrade.
Resolution
First you can take a look at the sync.log to see if there is any activity in the log that may describe the problem:
tail -f /opt/zimbra/log/sync.log
If the sync.log is not active, at an appropriate time, try restarting mailboxd, and the MTA services:
su - zimbra zmmailboxdctl restart
Then issue this command on your MTA server:
su - zimbra zmmtactl restart
Then check sync.log to see if devices are able to sync to ZCS.
If this does not resolve the problem do try to undeploy and redeploy the mobilesync zimlet.
Run the below command to undeploy the zimlet.
zmzimletctl undeploy com_zimbra_mobilesync
To deploy the zimlet again, Run the below command.
cd zimlets-network/ zmzimletctl deploy com_zimbra_mobilesync.zip
Flush the zimlet cache
zmprov fc zimlet
